This week I guided a group from India for three days. We saw the Galilee, Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv. Through this trip, we deepened the relationship between India and Israel. This relationship has beginning to flourish in recent years. It’s an exciting journey, and one that has come a long way. The Israel tour guide is an essential part of this process.
How did it all begin?
The story begins in 1947 at the UN vote on the Partition Plan. Thirty- three countries passed the Resolution, thereby creating a Jewish State. India was not one of them. In November 1947, India was only three and a half years.
Yet Israeli citizens have traveled to India for years and years, whether it be for business or post army travels or spiritual searching. Yet in the 21st century, India found it faced issues that Israel seemed to be developing solutions to. Clean water sources and defense systems are just two examples.
So Indians began coming to Israel.
They began exploring the history of the land and the sites of Israel. They began meeting Israelis that shared common occupations, interests, and backgrounds. Members from the Indian military met will Israeli military officials. Indian doctors met with Israeli doctors. Furthermore, they tried Israeli food, drinks, and cultural experiences.
And that’s where the Israel tour guide comes in.
Indian groups can’t do all of this alone. NO group can do this alone. The groups need someone to bring them to the right places and the right people. The Israel tour guide is therefore the only way for them to foster the experience that Indian tourists will remember forever once going back home.
The Israel tour guide knows of those small restaurants that can meet their needs. In addition, they know the places, sites, and organizations the Indian group will be interested in seeing and talking to. Most importantly, the Israel tour guide is the connection, or the bridge, between Israel and India.
Therefore, why is the Israel and India relationship important?
The relationship between India and Israel is incredibly important. Israel has technology that can seriously improve aspects of Indian society. Both countries have hot climates with water issues. Israel has developed a drip irrigation system that could improve the water crisis in Israel. The programs in Israel that help underpreviliged families could help underpreviliged families in India.
In India there is a welcoming perspective toward the wide diversity that makes up the population of India. Israel can learn from India how to bring those communities together. The group I guided this week had a great love for life and having a good time. I know that this Israeli learned to remember that love of having a good time when things get stressful.
In conclusion, the Israel tour guide brings these two countries together on a most human level. Furthermore, we break bread together through the work of that very tour guide. Finally, we learn that we’re all human and we break down stereotypes by meeting together.
Finally, it’s an exciting time for India, Israel, and their relationship. Indian and Israeli militaries are beginning cooperative meetings. Doctors are attending conferences together. And Israel tour guides are coming to bring these people together. In conclusion, I am honored to be a part of this process—as an Israeli, as an Israel tour guide.
